How placement works at Above & Beyond

A puppy from Above & Beyond is not placed simply on a first-come, first-served basis.

We are developing the Genesis Panther line as a structured breeding and development program, with a long-term focus on temperament, health, structure, stability, trainability and responsible ownership.

For that reason, we take the placement process seriously.

Our goal is not simply to find a home for a puppy, but to find the right home for that particular puppy.

We Match Puppies to People

We do not allocate puppies based solely on colour, markings, size or appearance.

During the inquiry process, we ask about your household, lifestyle, previous dog experience, expectations, intended role for the dog, training plans and other factors that may influence the suitability of a particular puppy.

We then consider this information together with the puppy's developing temperament, characteristics and potential.

This allows us to make a considered match rather than allowing puppies to be chosen purely by appearance.

You may have preferences, of course, but the final placement decision is based on suitability.

Temperament and potential come before colour.

What Is Included?

The standard puppy purchase includes:

  • age-appropriate veterinary care;

  • vaccination and deworming;

  • veterinary examination;

  • required puppy documentation;

  • Above & Beyond birth certificate;

  • puppy package;

  • early handling;

  • age-appropriate socialisation and development.

The standard purchase price does not include specialised or extended training.

For owners who want more development before taking their puppy home, we offer separate training and Board & Train options.

Health & Genetic Responsibility

Our breeding decisions are based on more than appearance.

Breeding females within the program are health screened and DNA tested for relevant hereditary conditions for which appropriate testing is available and undertaken.

Depending on the individual dogs and breeding plan, health screening may include orthopedic and other relevant veterinary assessments.

When selecting males, we consider available health, genetic and family information and work to avoid inappropriate hereditary combinations where reliable information and testing allow us to do so.

These measures are designed to reduce avoidable hereditary risks.

They cannot guarantee that a dog will never develop a medical condition. No responsible breeder can provide that guarantee.

Available parent health and genetic information can be discussed with prospective buyers.

A Puppy Is Not Sold With Automatic Breeding Rights

A standard puppy purchase is a purchase of an individual dog.

It does not include breeding rights.

Genesis Panther is a developing line, and breeding decisions are part of a controlled long-term program.

If a dog later develops into an exceptional breeding prospect, that does not automatically give its owner the right to breed it.

Potential breeding participation is considered separately and may be offered through a dedicated Partnership or Co-Ownership arrangement.

This allows breeding decisions to take into account health, temperament, structure, genetics, development, family lines and the long-term direction of the program.

Why Are There Restrictions on Breeding and Transfer?

These conditions are not there to make ownership unnecessarily difficult.

They exist because every breeding decision can affect future generations.

Unauthorized breeding can introduce unknown combinations into a developing line, affect future health planning and undermine the careful selection and development that goes into the program.

Similarly, if an owner can no longer keep their dog, we want to be involved in finding a responsible solution rather than having a dog transferred privately into an unknown situation.

Our preference is always communication before crisis.

If life circumstances change and you can no longer keep your dog, contact us.

We will work with you to find the most responsible solution for the dog.

A voluntary return does not mean the original purchase price is refunded.

Health & Genetic Provision

Our puppy agreement includes a defined provision for serious inherited or genetic conditions during the first 24 months from the puppy's date of birth.

Where a serious inherited or genetic condition is suspected, appropriate veterinary evidence is required.

We may request additional veterinary assessment where reasonably necessary.

If the buyer keeps an affected dog, normal veterinary and treatment costs remain the owner's responsibility.

Where appropriate, Above & Beyond is also prepared to take an affected dog back and take responsibility for its further treatment.

Depending on the circumstances, the agreed resolution may include a suitable replacement puppy, a suitable young dog or a refund of the original purchase price.

We do not provide an open-ended veterinary expense reimbursement arrangement.

Our intention is to provide a clear and responsible health provision while also ensuring that an affected dog can return to the program if that is the best solution.

International Buyers

International placement is possible, but import requirements differ considerably between countries.

Buyers are responsible for understanding the requirements of their destination country, including matters such as:

  • minimum travel age;

  • rabies vaccination;

  • waiting periods;

  • microchip requirements;

  • health certificates;

  • border requirements;

  • breed restrictions;

  • transport regulations.

We assist our buyers wherever we reasonably can.

For buyers who want us to take a more active role in checking requirements, arranging transport, coordinating documentation or managing the international transfer or private transport/handover we also offer this as a separate paid service.

What If Your Puppy Cannot Legally Travel at 10–11 Weeks?

Some countries do not permit a puppy to enter at the age at which it would normally leave the breeder.

If your country's regulations require the puppy to remain longer, this does not mean the puppy simply sits in a kennel waiting for its travel date.

We offer extended boarding and Board & Train / Development options for this situation.

The additional period can include continued:

  • socialisation;

  • environmental exposure;

  • handling;

  • obedience foundations;

  • development work;

  • age-appropriate training;

  • confidence building;

  • preparation for the puppy's future role.

Extended boarding and development are not included in the standard €5,000 puppy purchase and are arranged separately according to the length and type of stay.

The Formal Agreement

Before a reservation is finalised, prospective buyers receive the detailed Puppy Purchase & Placement Agreement.

The agreement covers matters including:

  • payment and reservation;

  • puppy matching;

  • health and genetic provisions;

  • breeding rights;

  • unauthorized breeding;

  • transfer and rehoming;

  • international transport;

  • extended boarding and development;

  • future breeding participation;

  • responsibilities of both parties.

We believe buyers should understand these principles before making a reservation.

The formal agreement contains the complete contractual terms and should always be read in full before signing.

Our Approach

Above & Beyond is not built around producing as many puppies as possible or allowing every puppy to be selected according to appearance.

We are building a long-term program.

That means making careful decisions about which dogs are bred, how puppies are developed and where they are placed.

We expect our owners to take that responsibility seriously as well.

In return, we aim to remain available to our owners beyond the day of collection.
